You will see that the drops of the springs form wonderful stalactites and stalagmites on limestone rocks and schist rocks.
These stalactites were formed following the continuous deposits of minerals carried by the percolating waters in the cave. Stalagmites, on the other hand, rise from the floor of the caves, and were formed from the limestone deposit contained in the drops of water that drip from the ceiling, evaporating very slowly.
The formation of stalactites and stalagmites took place over millennia. In this rocky area you will also be able to notice the plate of land that has slipped under the Adriatic plate.
